Fueling the Future – RP Companies helps Luke AFB prepare for F-35 fighter jets

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Luke Air Force BaseThe new F-35 fighter jets are flying to The Valley, and RP Companies is pleased to be part of the welcoming party.

The F-35 Lightening II, which comes in three variants, will be the future of the U.S. tactical air support for decades. Glendale’s own Luke Air Force Base will be transformed into a training facility for these new jets, and RP Companies is excited to be assisting in their transformation.

Luke Air Force Base made the announcement of the new addition on their campaign website last month:

“Luke AFB will now have more F-35A’s assigned to its base in Glendale than any other installation in the Air Force. The announcement also paves the way for Luke to have a total of six squadrons totaling 144 F-35A jets when the base fully transitions to an F-35A training center over the next several years.”

Part of the transition includes the relocation and addition of new underground natural gas line system, which will provide power throughout the facility.

That’s where we come in.

RP Companies began construction on this project at the beginning of March 2013 with our fleet of professionals, trucks and equipment that ranges from excavation and compaction, to safety and inspection equipment. We are fusing PE (polyethylene) gas lines, providing main shut off points, and metering locations to support the needs of the new facility and adjoining buildings with the plan of future expansion.

RP Companies was sought out by Archer Western Contractors who brought us on for our extensive knowledge in installing natural gas lines, our small business certification and our ability to conduct our self according to the strict safety guidelines and commitment to excellence required for a Federal project. The project is expected to continue through the end of the year.

RP Companies

RP Companies of Phoenix, Arizona is proud to join Solar Thermal Solutions in bringing green energy to The Phoenix Dream Center. The Phoenix Dream Center is a volunteer nonprofit 501c organization that serves homeless, low-income, struggling individuals and families since it was founded in 2006. Pastor Dwaine Moss, Director and operator of The Phoenix Dream Center, says the center currently serves over 40,000 people in need every month providing resources, opportunities and support services to help them realize their dream of living a self-sufficient life.

RP Companies is the general contractor for The Dream Center’s solar panel installation project and has started construction on a 88,320 watt solar electric array that is going to cover the entire roof of The Phoenix Dream Center. The array is the latest technology from Brightleaf Power that will also include a integral piping system with storage tanks for the hot water needs of the center.

RP CompaniesRP Companies, Mike Reed and his team of seasoned electrical technicians will oversee the installation of the solar energy system. The green power generated from the solar panels and heated water will substantially reduce the power bill for The Phoenix Dream Center. Reduced power consumption means The Phoenix Dream Center that runs on 100% donations, can redirect funds from operating overhead to doing what they do best, helping people in need rebuild their lives.

This project could have not been possible without the help of Perry Pauley and Solar Thermal Solutions who purchased the green energy system from Brightleaf Power, for The Phoenix Dream Center located in Phoenix, Arizona.  RP Companies Directors, Koal Hirschi, Dale Fry and Brad Fry believe it is privilege for their companies expertise (A-General, Electrical and Engineering) to be utilized on a project of this scale that will substantially make a difference in rebuilding people’s lives.   RP Companies would also like to thank all of the subcontractors and suppliers who donated their services to The Dream Centers modernization and constant facility improvements.
